Hospitality Assistant

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: President/CEO

SALARY: Part-time, $18-20/hr

 

General Description of Primary Responsibilities:
The Hospitality Assistant is responsible for providing customer service to visitors and local employers in the hospitality industry.

Essential Responsibilities Include:
-Provide customer service to community members and tourists over the phone, online and in-person
-Monitor social media accounts and website for information requests
-Assemble and ship visitor packets and distribute printed materials
-Manage visitor information displays
-Coordinate pick-up and delivery of materials to local employers and businesses
-Occasionally work on evenings and weekends
-Assist other staff as assigned with special projects, events, committees, etc

Personal Attributes: To appropriately meet the needs of the position, the Hospitality Assistant is expected to:
-Communicate clearly and professionally
-Work harmoniously, enthusiastically and cooperatively with staff, members and volunteers
-Accomplish tasks both independently and with direction
-Maintain a well-informed, working knowledge of local events, attractions, businesses and services
-Be willing to learn new skills
-Manage time and resources efficiently

Skills & Education:
-High School diploma or equivalent
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
-Familiarity with office technology and equipment
-Additional training will be provided
-Bilingual preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:
-Ability to sit for extended periods of time
-Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly
-Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time, as needed
